Write an intelligent, well-thought-out response to Tuesdays With Morrie. Consider the entire book and any themes that you found especially important. You should write at least one good paragraph, and perhaps more. You must also respond to what two other students post, so you'll need to check back periodically. This assignment is due by midnight Friday, February 1. Make sure to put your name, and if there is someone else with your name, use your last name so I can give you credit for this assignment.
Generaly speaking, I think that Tuesday's With Morrie was a good book. The story line was easy to follow and I enjoyed reading it. I liked that Morrie tried to teach people without scaring them and that he didn't want others to be sad because of what was happening to him. I believe that the book helped a lot of people through Morrie's insights. After reading other responces to this book, I realized that it didn't have as much of an impact on me as it did others. The story was one that made you feel emotions but I didn't get the epiphany that others did. All the things that Morrie was trying to teach I think I already had some degree of knowledge about already. I am not trying to be a downer or belittle Morrie but I don't believe I had the same revelation to this book as others. ~Kate~
I agree with kate about the book and hope Morrie did help a lot of people. ~ASHLEY~
It's always interesting to me to hear the different reactions and responses to this book. Some people absolutely fall in love with the book, while others are not as moved by it. I agree with those of you who would rather read a "story" of some kind, but I do like this book. It contains valuable lessons, although sometimes the lessons seem redundant. ~Woods
I totaly agree with Kate that the book had different impacts on different people. I think it's just based on your personality and how mature you are on different subjects. Such as dying for example, if you had a really good idea on what death was going to be like or how you wanted to die, then the book wouldn't be as useful in that subject. But if you weren't sure about something like realationships, then the book would be more useful. We are all different on different levels. -----Zack I.
I think the book “Tuesdays With Morrie” really opened up the way I look at death, aging, and how to live your life. In my opinion everyone should read this book because of the way Morrie handled his sickness. This book could help a lot of people who are dying or has been around someone who has died. Morries' wisdom and all of the aphorisms he created really gives the reader something to think about. I think a lot of people including myself wished they could of read this before their loved one passed away.- Jake Brough
I agree with Jake because it also changed how I thought about death. I used to think of death just being a really sad time but I think as it way differently now. And I also think everyone should read this book no matter what your age is. So good job Jake! -Brittany*
I agree with Jake because it does kind of change your perspective on death and tends to make think about it a little less of a sad way. I also agree with how he said that the book made you live your life better. That is something that I strongly agree with. I don't think that someone could read this book and not get one thing or life lesson out of it, so if you realize it or not, it does have an impact on your life-------Zack I.
I agree with Jake because it changed the way I look at death. I also liked the way Morrie was able to handle his death. Thats why I agree with Jake.-Stuart
I think that Jake is exactly right. It has change my thoughts on death. Joe P.
I totally agree with Jake my whole outlook on death has changed completly thanks to the book.KEATON
My whole over all thought about Tuesdays With Morrie Is that it was a really good book. It inspired me a lot. The interviews he had with Nightline Im very sure inspired a lot of people back then and still are to this day. Morrie was a good ear, intellegent guy, also gave very good advice. He taught a lot of people in and out of school. He is still teaching even after he has passed away. This book was awsome, one of them books you want to read twice. He had a lot of good quotes and sayings. Morrie accepted things for what they were. He knew he was going to die, so he did everything he could physically do. He always looked at everything positive. I think this is one of the best books I have ever read. -Lacey
Lacey I see how you feel but I think that this book is emotional.Tyler Rensch
Tuesdays with Morrie was an inspiring book to read and I mostly enjoyed spending my time reading it. This book gives views upon life and death, love and hate, and it has helped many of those who have read and enjoyed it decipher and pinpoint the wrongs and rights of their lives. At times, this book was depressing, mainly because it was sad to follow along Morrie's serious health decline. It was almost difficult for me to continue reading because it was obvious of how it would end. I have also read Mitch Albom's book The Five People You Meet in Heaven, which also gives views upon life and its achievements and downfalls. Tuesdays with Morrie had a challenging vocabulary, but it was all-together easy to read. I would recommend either of these books to any type of reader. *Emily Kliffmiller
--- I think what Emily is saying that the book was hard to follow because you knew what was going to happen in the end.. and the words were really hard to understand... Goodjob emilay!-- K@yn3
I like Emily’s response, because I also enjoyed reading this book and the things it talks about. If someone needed advice on one of the subjects that are covered in the book, it would be a good way to get it. At times, I also found the talk of death depressing, but it’s a important part of the book. Thats why I agree with her -Jacob W
I think "Tuesdays WIth Morrie" was a great book. It has inspired me. This book has made me look at life differently. I no longer view life as an everyday thing. I now view life as a precious gift. I think that this book has inspired many people as well. I think it has made people think about Life, Family, and Love, more. I think that this book was a great book, and inspiration.
Shawni~
I completely agree with Shawni I no longer take my life for granted I look everyday being my last.
-Kody
I also agree with Shawni, it inspired me to do things I wouldn't and it has deffinately made me look at life differently and appreciate things i didnt use to. --Lyndsey
I liked Tuesdays with Morrie, but for some reason it didn't inspire me or make me sad. It was a great story, don't get me wrong, but I just wasn't that ingrossed with it. I guess it's because I've never had any similar experiences or anything like that. Sometimes I almost tried to make myself be sad over it, but I couldn't. And the more I thought about, I think that Morrie really didn't want the reader to be sobbing over his death because that was part of his lessons. Not to be scared or sad by death. I liked the book, but it just wasn't something I could get that deep into. I liked the lessons, but I just didn't cry or lose any sleep over the book. I'm just kind of more into action type stuff. It sometimes depends on my mood, but most of the time I'm not into tear-jerking stuff. I like to read books or watch movies to step out of reality. I don't like to watch or read stuff that is sad or a reality unless it has a good story line. I like to see a guy do 3 backflips through the air while shooting at the bad guys. Not some old guy whose dying and talks about love. I think this might be from immaturity, but I also think it's because I don't really need those life lessons yet. I still like to be a kid and not have to worry about death. I like to focus on stuff like school or horseing around with my buddies. But if I were older they would be more useful. For example: Morrie talked to Mitch and helped turn his life around. He was busy with his career and marriage and stuff. What do I have to worry about? THe biggest problem I have is trying to get an A in Science instead of a B+. I also think I would have liked the book better if I had not heard it so many times. We watched 2 or 3 movies on it, and we read the book, and we talked about in class all of the time. It was just a little too much for me. It almost seemed to be a little boring after awhile. I liked our first book, Frankenstein, better because it was kind of a more exiting book. But with Tuesdays with Morrie, it was more of a serious book and I'm not a serious type of person. But the first few days of reading it, I thought it was great. It just got a little old after awhile. I know it was probably very touching or inspiring to some readers, but not me. But I did like some of the lessons that I could use; and the book really has affected me some, but just not on a major, life-changing scale.------- Zack I. Zack--I think you are exactly right that Morrie didn't want the reader to be sad. That goes against what he was teaching Mitch. At the very least, if Mitch had to be sad, Morrie wouldn't want him to dwell on it; rather, he would have wanted him to learn from the experience. ~Woods
Yeah, I agree with Zack too. In the story he was trying to show that death is not scary at all if you have no guilt. -Drew Sikes
Ya Zack I think that you are Exactly Right he was triying to make it sound like death was not scary.Tyler Rensch
four on the five! Sorry...I feel exactly the same way zack does on this, wich makes me mad cause he wrote the same thing i was going to write but its ok i guess. Anyway i liked this because if morrie has happy about his death then why should other people be sad about it.
SAVE YOUR MONEY WITH A LIONEL COIN BANK! cody
The thing I liked about Tuesdays with Morrie was that I really got into the story when it was talking about that he was dying and that he had a rare disease called ALS. It’s a disease that can kill a person by making he or she suffer with slowly killing their nerves in the body that can allow a person move its body. But not all I have learned was from ALS but also from Morrie and his personality to others and to the way of life ever since he got the disease. He learned to accept the way he is now. For example, he fells sad but he doesn’t feel sorry for himself because he knows he’s an inspiration to others and he has no choice but to deal with it and help out the world as much as he can. After he got the disease he learned that life is more important when you have only a few days to make things right. – Drew Sikes
--I agree with you drew, you learn more than just stuff about ALS in this book, but yet u also learn how to live and about Morrie's life. -Lacey
Rock on! I think you have the right ideas. Jacob Rowland.
I thought that "Tuesdays with Morrie" was a really good book. I think it teaches you more about life and how to view it. It helps open people's eyes to different things in life, that we don't see. If more people thought like Morrie did, it would make a big difference. The book makes me see how people really are and how we should be. For example, Morrie has this horrible disease, but yet, he still cares for other people more than himself. "Tuesdays with Morrie" makes me see how I would like to be, and maybe it had the same effect on other people. I would deffinately recommend this book to other people.
-Reanna!
I agree with Reanna about the book and how she talks about how people lokk at life in a totally diffrent view. ~ASHLEY~
Cole M. Gilham- I think Reanna makes a good point. it is almost what I said. But this book can and did help people. Also she said he always care more about other people than he cared about himself.
I really liked how Reanna talk about how happy Morrie was even though he had such a horrible disease. I think people forget how hard it would be to be happy, care about other people more than himself, and be able to enjoy life with a disease like that. Good job Reanna! ~Taylor Dale
I really liked "Tuesdays with Morrie" it was one of my all times favorites. It would teach kids of what would happen to them if they had ALS. It would also teach them not to fear death once it comes to you or a family member. It has made a big effect on others than just me. I would like to read this book more than once and understand as much as I can of ALS. Marcus Roegge
Like Marcus said about it teaching kids of what would happen if they had als is true. It is a book you would want to read more than once. -Lacey
Yeah I totally agree with marcus this book was also one of my all time favorite books that I have read in school....[keaton]
I think the thing that was especially important to me that was in the book “Tuesdays with Morrie” was Morrie talking about how you don't really appreciate life till you know that you're not going to be able to enjoy life much longer. It really made me stop and think when he was talking about having a little bird on your shoulder and everyday you look at the bird and ask him “little bird is today the day?”. I really liked how he said that because when I was little I thought that you had to be old to pass away because everyone that I knew that had passed away was at an older age. When I was about seven my grandpa passed away and not to long after that we were at my grandma looking at old pictures and there was a card from someones visitation who had the the same last name as my aunt. When I asked my mom about it she said my aunt had a daughter before I was born but she died at the age of three of leukemia . It upset me because she was so young and she had battled leukemia for a long time ,but I didn't really think about it because I never knew her. However ; in September when my cousin Jordi died I really realized just how precious life was because I was very close to her and she was still so young. It really makes me enjoy life more and I honestly think that I'm a little more appreciative of things I have. Through all of this I'm defiantly way appreciative of my family.
!~Taylor Dale~! Taylor--I'm glad there were parts you found helpful. I'm proud of you for handling this so well.~Woods
Taylor, I think you did an awsome job explaning what the book was like and what you learned from the book. ~*~Chelsea~*~
Wohoo Taylor Marie, I agree with you 100%! Im glad it helped u with things too. =] -Lacey Ann
Great Job Taylor!!!!! I really liked your paragraph and thought you did a great job of explaining how you feel. it was nice that you even were personal about this.-*Mandy*
I think the book “Tuesdays With Morrie” was an awsome book, it changed the way I looked at deth. Morrie didnt want people to be sad and depressed by reading this book he wanted it to be an eye opener for them and he wanted them to lern from his experience with having a long term illness.
Morrie wanted to teach us but at the same time he was still learning. I think that everyone should read Tuesdays With Morrie because it is a good book and they will learn something from it.
~*~Chelsea~*~
--Chelsea, i like how you said that Morrie taught us at the same time he was learning. Also about how he wanted us to learn that death wasn't always something to be sad about. That was a really good point. Your response was short but it had lots of good content. Good Job! --Katie*
What I think about the book && whole review of "Tuesdays with Morrie" was a very debating question on what I really think of it. I thought that Morrie was inspiring by trying to teach the world that there is more to life than your career. I am also a little guilty saying that it was hard to get into. The book was, yes, very easy to read, but my issue is that it seemed like I already knew exactly what was going to happen. Which is of course obvious, that he was going to die. It was just that there was no mystery to me, and it wasn't one of those "I can't put this book down" experiences. To me, I think that Morrie gave alot to people, and made them think twice about how they're living their lives. I think happiness comes from yourself, and the people you surround yourself with. Which is what Morrie somewhat explained. Overall I enjoyed this "Tuesdays with Morrie" experience, because I'm always cheering for the person who wants to be different, and truely make a difference in the world.
**KAILEY**
I agree with Kailey because in the book it tells life is more improtant. Family comes first before business. -Drew Sikes
I also agree with Kailey because this book analyzes the meanings of life and helps people better understand their own purposes. *Emily Kliffmiller
I think you hit this right on the nose. Jacob Rowland
Kailey, I totally agree with you that Morrie was a sweet guy and it was great what he was doing, but it just wasn't interesting because there was no surprise factor. I think that you and I thought the same thing. -Becca
Kailey, I believe that you are exactly right. You have a choice in being happy; and I admire Morrie for choosing to do so. He could have spent his time holding grudges and feeling sorry for himself. But instead, he chose to teach others how to deal with life, and death. He taught Mitch how to love; and throughout the book Mitch changed tremendously. -Josie:)
Cole M. Gilham
Tuesdays with Morrie was a great book. I learned a lot from this book. Morrie had a different way at looking at life. When Mitch found out about Morries condition I think he felt a lot of gilt. The way Morrie viewed life was like he did not care what people though. Morrie knew he was going to die and the way I see it if you are going to die life is seen differently. Mitch was going through a lot of stress at work, and with his girlfriend. When Mitch went to see Morrie his life changed that he to viewed life almost the same way Morrie did. Now on the “Nightline” I thought Morrie made a good point. At first it was hard to listen to Morrrie talk, but I think if Morrie lived a little bit longer than he did, and did another “Nightline” People would have learned a lot more. But all in all this entire book helped me and probably helped or inspired more.
Cole- I agree with you. Your response was somewhat like mine. But the book has inspired me as well
-Reanna!
Cole- I think that you are right about if Morrie might have lived just alittle bit longer then some more people might have got to see him. Also I disagree because if he would of lived alittle bit longer, then he would of had more coughing fits on tv, and he doesn't want anyone to see him that sick, and he would have been to weak to speak loud enough for people to hear him. - Suzette
I did not lick Tuesdays with Morrie. I think that he was to open about death. It did not make me confortable it just made me feel weird but I do think that Mitch is a good writer I also think that a lot of people took it to fare and were to amoshinal about it.Tyler Rensch
i think tyler has a right not to like it but everyone has their own opinion: jacob Rowland
I think Tuesdays with Morrie was a overall good life lesson. I think if you want to pick up a book and read for fun go find a different book because this is a learning experience. You have to understand the worlds greatest mystery to understand this book. Life and Death are bound to happen and how you look at them will determine your future. Morrie learned that and showed the world death is another adventure. The only reason to pick up this book is to understand your life and future.

I agree with Jacob, life and death are bound to happen, whether you want it to or not.-Shelby*
I also agree whith Jacob No matter what you try to do to prevent deth it will happen anyways.~*~Chelsea~*~
I agree with what Jacob said because it was a very good experience to read this book, and it taught so many lessons!-*Mandy*
I agree with Jacob too, because some people just picks up a book cause they want to, not to learn from it. So if you want to know what happens to people with ALS then pick up a the "Tuedays with Morrie" book and learn about it the sad way, and also Morrie wanted people to read more, so now he gets his wish. That ppeople will read more news then junk. -Suzette
I think that Jacob has it right no matter how much you think that someone or something isn't going to die you can't stop it it's part of nature.
Joe
I agree with Jacob that death is bound to happen, but I don't think that you would have to understand death or life to undertand this book.If that were the case then no one would understand this book.-Austin Wright
I think that Tuesdays with Morrie is a good book but it didn't make me sad or cry like some people think that it was supposed to. But it was still a good book I just think that it was overused like Frankenstein. I also think that the book mad a good impact on the readers and the world. Ethan Ruby
Ethan, I agree with you when you said the book made a great impact on the world. However, I don't think it was overused because if people don't read it, how will it make an impact on them?. -Becca
I can understand when you say that the book was overused. I am glad you responded like so because I feel the same way. I think that it made more of an emotional impact on some than it did on others. ~Kate~
I completely agree with you Ethan, when you said that it was a good book and made a good impact on readers and the world. His life lessons through the interviews did or could have helped alot of people. On the other hand like Becca said I really don't get how you think it was "overused like Frankenstein". -Emma-
Tuesdays With Morrie wasn't the type of book I would read on my own. But since I ended up reading it, it made me think. I think there are lessons you can take from any book. Things that Morrie said made me think about myself and other people. The book didn't necessarily make me want to change my life, but it did make me think. Although it is something I have thought about for awhile, Morrie reinforced the idea that I should slow down and do only what I really want to do. There's a song by the band Alabama about that... Anyway Morrie also reinforced the idea that at any moment I could die, and because of that I should try to live in the present rather than the future or the past. When reading the book I decided that I should also listen to people better instead of waiting for my turn to talk. The last thing, and probably foremost, that Tuesdays With Morrie taught me is that I need to spend as much time with my loved ones as possible, and do what makes me happy. Moe
I think this is the kind of reaction Morrie was searching for. He wanted the world to think twice about their actions and living life, and Moe shows that people's thoughts can change for the better, from reading this story.
-----KAILEY
I also agree with Kailey and Moe. The whole point of this book was to sperad Morrie's story and to portray to people different views on life. This book influences people to look at the most important things in their life; family and friends.
Great job to the both of you. *Emily Alabama is good=)
I agree with Moe. I don’t go looking for books that are about life , and that teach life lessons. This book is a lot better than I thought it would be, because it’s not some guys lecture about life in a book it’s a bunch of stories about a guys life that are used to teach good lessons. Thats why I like Moe’s response -Jacob W
I like the book Tuesday with Morrie because it tells you what happens when you have the disease. He tells the readers not to feel sad when someone close to you is dieing or dead, because you or they are a wave, but a big part of the ocean. Once someone dies there not really dead there just part of something new or a part of something bigger. You may feel sad on earth, but you have to face facts that everyone on earth will sooner or later die. Yes you can feel a little sad for them when they die, but that don't mean you have to forget them. You always have the good and the bad moments that means the most to you. You will always remember them even after your dead to, but when you die you might get to see them sooner or latter, because the are always memories alive when you or they are gone. -Suzette
Suzette, I thought you did a good job on explainign on how you liked the book. I liked how you mentioned one of the quotes they used in the story and I liked how you explained what it meant! Good Job! -Kelsie W.

My personal response about “tuesdays with Morrie”is that it is a really good book and it probbily inspired more people than me and the night line videos ore the night line show was a good thing because Morrie liked to talk ,and it gave people a chance to understand what kind of diesse Morrie had and that also probbuly inspird more than one person than just me,and over all “tuesdays with Morrie” was a good book.
I think “Tuesdays With Morrie” was a terrific book. It didn't exactly make me sad, but it made me think how important life is. I think if people thought like Morrie did, then things would be so much different. I really liked the part about the little bird on your shoulder and everyday you would stop and ask the bird “little bird is today the day?” I really like that because when I was younger I thought that people couldn't die at a young age and I thought everyone had to be really old to pass away, but a few years ago I almost lost my little sister,Dalayna. She was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and she almost didn't make it. And now every time she has a seizure or something,I'm sacred I'm going to lose her. I don't just see life as an everyday thing, I almost cherish every moment of it. The thing with Dalayna definitely helped me view life differently and so did Morrie. -Shelby*
Shelby- I agree with what you said. It didn't exactly make me sad, but mad me see how important life is.
-Reanna!
I really liked the book “Tuesdays With Morrie”. Although, at times throughout the book I found it to be very sad and depressing. Even though the book was just another way for Morrie's teachings and aphorisms to continue on, I think certain parts dealing with his ALS were really depressing. The book also teaches a lot of useful life lessons. The lessons that Morrie taught Mitch can be used in probably every one of our lives, that is a reason why I liked this book so well. There were so many lessons that could be learned from this. I also think this book made me think about how much I have, and how grateful I am to not have one of my relatives go through a disease like ALS. I think it'd be hard for Morrie's family to see him in that condition, but what also made it easier was that Morrie was so closely connected with his family. That is another lesson I learned from reading “Tuesdays With Morrie.” To cherish your family and stay close with them, because they are one of the greatest things you can have in your life.

I agree with what Kate said about all of the lessons this book teaches you, and that family is the most important thing. She did a great job telling about how she felt about the book. But, I don't agree that the book was depressing.-Austin
I think this book is very extraordinary. It has taught me about life and death. Death of course is scary. Almost everyone is afraid of it. Before I had read this book I really was scared of death. I didn't want to talk about it cause it made me really uncomfortable. After reading this book I feel like talking about it is the better way to deal with it. It has also taught me to go for things that I really like cause you never know when you are going to die. Also to forgive and to forget the grudges you've help or are holding on people. This is an inspiring book. I think everyone should read it because it really teaches you a life's lesson. Instead of being scared of something you have to learn to deal with it.
Maryam
I agree with Maryam. Before I read this book, I tried to avoid the subject of death. I didn't like to talk about it, and honestly, I never really thought much of it. I'm sure everyone gets the feeling that they are never going to die. They get this feeling without even knowing, because they don't think about death, or choose not to think about death, and life. I veiw death and life as being linked together.
*Shawni*
I believe that this book is really good. I believe that it could be really longer though. I read this book in about a day or two so I would have like it a little more if it was longer. I think this book really made me think about death and what I want people to think of me when I die. I think Morrie was really good person and he deserved all the fame he got from all this. I mean if all of this happened, We probably would have Brandon coming up with great ideas for the wiki like all of the videos he has and everything else. We wouldn't have Evin telling us about ALS. I have learned so much from this book that I think it is a great idea to have more and more people read this book. I even inspired my mother to read this book just from the reviews I gave her about the book. Then my mom gave the book down to my grandma to read and she read it really quickly. I think that this was a really good book to read in school and this is definitely a book that made me want to cry, Then laugh, Then cry again. I think that movie that went along with it could have been longer and more on the book than real life so it could have been more accurate. Its pretty much like the harry potter books. The movies were horrible. I liked the books so much more I only read a couple of them that doesn't mean that I am a fanatic or anything like that. I'm just saying that books make you wants you to use your imagination more than to see how much soda you have left. I think this book was great. I'm not to fond of the movie. I have my, “This would make it so much betters." By:Colt Durr/ Sorry she wouldnt let me get on for more than 1 sec. This is nice--who wrote it?
The book Tuesdays with Morrie is a book that makes you look at things differently. Something that I liked about this book was the way that Mitch and Morrie talk about some pretty “touchy-feely” things that normally aren't talked about between friends. This book made me view daily situations and controversies differently. So, my overall opinion of this book is five stars for changing the way I look at things. -Maverick Woodside
I agree with Maverick because it also changed the way I think of things. Like Morrie didn't know the day he was going to get ALS so everyday just makes me think that this could all be gone in a flash. So good job Mav!-Brittany*
I totally agree with him. It kind of goes along with mine in which I like. I talk about it between friends though.-Mr. Durr
Tuesdays with Morrie is the kind of book that makes me smile. I thought that this was a great book. It taught me a lot about living life to the fullest and loving and forgiving others. Not that I've really had a difficult experience with death, but it definitely opened my eyes to the subject. I liked the fact that Morrie was so open with his emotions and never felt any awkwardness about it. He knew how to make his last days meaningful. I would recommend this book to anybody. It was quick and easy to read, and I would probably read it many more times. - Julie
I agree with Julie. This book also makes me smile when i read it. It also taught me a lot about life and the lessons we need to learn.
--Lyndsey
I personally liked the book, and think it teaches some very important lessons. In the beginning of the book, Mitch is a very big work-o-holic. Then one night while watching the TV, he sees a story about his old teacher Morrie. Mitch is shocked to learn that Morrie is dieing. Since Mitch was close to Morrie back in school, he decides to go see his old friend. After visiting Morrie once, Mitch goes back again, and again, and again. It tuns into him going to see Morrie every Tuesday. While hes there, Morrie and him talk about lives biggest questions. Some of the topic are family, regrets, and of corse death. Mitch turns into a completely different and even doesn't take his phone anymore. It makes us stop and think about are own lives and if we died today, would we be ready. Thats what I think about this book. -Jacob W.
I really liked the book Tuesdays with Morrie because it made you think about life. In my opinion we take way to much for granted. We get one thing and it isn't enough so we ask for more and more. Morrie made me think that we need to make the best of our lives and live each day like it's our last. This book has made me think about the things in life a lot more than I ever really did. I realize how much my family and friends mean to me and everything I care about around me. There is no point in fighting with people when your just going to make up and be friends again in the end. Tuesdays with Morrie is the best book I've ever read. - Emma
I really liked how Emma talked about how people take stuff for granted because we know we all do sometimes. I also liked how she talked about how much her family and friends mean to her know because I felt the exact same way. You did a great job!~Taylor Dale
Emma, I really like how you mentioned that we always want more than what we have. I think that was one of the lessons Morrie was trying to teach us. --Katie*
I enjoyed reading this book and it had a lot of good advice. I believe that anyone who is afraid of death or thinks that they could learn how to better themselves would do so by reading this book. Since I have never had an experience like this in my family so I did not find it very helpful to me, but I could see how it could help others that are in Morrie's position. Either way I found that it was a good story about a teacher and student going through their lives one step at a time.- meyer
I agree I also thought the book could help others-tyler mummert
I thought that Tuesday With Morrie was a good book about an old man and his ex-student and the old man,Morrie, taught the student ,Mitch, lessons on living, but I think at this age that a lot of the stuff he said didn't really apply to me I mean I couldn't always relate to what was going on because I haven't gone through anything like this or witnessed it so I didn't quite get in to the book but I still think it was good because it kinda inspired me that when I am dying not to give up and not to hang on to thing too long.-Hillyer
I agree with you when you said that it was hard to relate to the book. I liked how you said that bexause of your age you didn't believe that the book worked well for you. I am glad that it inpsired you even though it was hard to connect to. ~Kate~
I think that tuesdays with morrie was a great book to read it brought out great disscuion. in the book there was lots of great things like his wisdom he always said something inteligent he was a very smart man any thing he said would make you laugh , cry ,think, whatever . Teusdays with morrie made me think about alot of things it mostly made me think about my grandparents because the always look after me. I also think this book could help a lot of people. I would tell any one to read it if they ask it was a great book and that was my thoughts about Teusdays with morrie-Tyler Mummert
Tuesdays With Morrie is a good book, but I just didn't get that into it. I liked reading about Morrie, but the whole point of the story was that he was going to die and this was his last lesson and it was just too depressing for me. Also, I like books that have a surprise at the end and that are kind of suspenseful. Tuesday With Morrie wasn't like that because you already knew what happened. Even though, I didn't find it very interesting, I still thought Morrie was really sweet that he wanted to teach about life. I learned things that I didn't know before, like the things about the tribe in Africa and about the Buddhists asking the birds on their shoulders if they were ready to die. I liked how Morrie was so out spoken. If he thought you were being selfish or could do something better in you life, he would tell you. Overall, I think Tuesdays With Morrie was a pretty good book that taught us about friendship and life. - Becca
I agree withwha becc said abou tthe book. Even though she typed in yellow font that icouldnt read. I agreed with everything she said about the bok.
“Tuesday’s With Morrie” was one of the most original books I have ever read. It made me think about issues that I had always tried to avoid before. Like death- I was never really comfortable discussing it or even thinking about it. I’m still not that comfortable discussing it, but Morrie’s openness with death has helped me decide what I think about it. Another issue that Morrie brought up that I had never really thought of before was the balance between family, friends and work. I have to be honest and say that before reading this book, what I wanted to do after college was earn lots of money and buy a big house. Kind of like what Mitch did. After reading this book I started thinking, would I have time for friends? Would I have time to raise a family? I don’t want to be like Mitch, he didn’t have time for friends or a family. So now I am looking for something that I could do that would leave me plenty of time to be with friends and family and never miss something like a birthday or holiday. I don’t know what it will be yet but I am confident I will find it. --Katie*
I agree with Katie I too had life planned after college, but this book changed that because you never know when life's going to end and now I want to find a career that I love and still have time for friends and family. -Loren
"Tuesdays with Morrie" taught me how much to appreciate life and how lucky i am to be here on this earth. Reading the book and watching the movie both showed me how miserable it is to have ALS. Like Morrie, he like to dance and have fun, if i couldnt do the things i do now i would me miserable and couldnt live without it, i dont see how Morrie lived like that. For me talking about dying is really stressful and makes you tight in the chest. From before i was afraid of dying and still to this day im afraid of leaving because after that theres just history and you never ever come back. Most of the times his aphorisms didnt make sense and it was hard to understand. But overall i think this book was 1 of the best books ive ever read----->K@yn3
I agree with Kayne that it would stink to not be able to dance and swim, but I also think after reading this book it will be easier to talk about death when I'm ready. I also agree that it was one of the best books I've ever read. -Loren
I think Tuesdays With Morrie was a good book. It really changed the way I look at death. Also, it made me look at life differently like everyday could be the last. At the beginning of the book I thought it was kind of weird, but as I read on I liked it more and more. I thought it was sad, but then I felt like Morrie was speaking to me and that made it better. My overall opinion of the book is that it was great! I think everyone should read this if they want to know how to live life to the fullest and understand death a little better. -Loren
I loved the book, "Tuesdays With Morrie!" This book really touched me the way Morrie was open about his feelings and dying and how he feels about everything and everyone. When I started reading this book it was really getting depressing of how ALS got to him so quickly and what Morrie could and couldn’t do anymore. I also liked this book because my grandma had ALS and I realized how much she went through. My mom talked about how she had to take care of her mom and how hard it was to see her mom go by everyday. I never really imagined it all until I read this book and watched the movie. It made me appreciate how lucky and grateful I am to have people that care about me and love me the way Mitch cared about Morrie. - Kelsie W.
Tuesdays with Morrie is probably one of the best books I've read. To me it was very inspirational and it made me look at life through a different perspective. Reading this made me think about what I have and how much I take that for granted. I don't think I realized all that I had before reading this. I hope Morrie taught everyone what he taught me. He definately helped me realize to live, love, and laugh as much as I can before I die. He also taught me to spend as much time as I can with the people I love before there's no time left. Overall I thought Tuesdays with Morrie was a good book. --Lyndsey
--I think Lyndsey did a good job explaining the book, especially the part about loving, living and laughing as much as you can before you die. I agree with this and I also thought it was a really good book. – Julie
My over all impression of Tuesdays with Morie was satisfactory. It was a great book but not one that would make you want to reread it. The story line was simple and kind of got boring in some parts. I really do not like books that try to teach you a lesson because I like to find them out for my self. It may help me in the future when I am older and the lessons can be applied to my life. The only parts I liked were the parts were I found out the back rounds of Mitch and Morie. That helped me understand what they went through growing up to make them the type of person they grew up to be. That is my overall impression of the book. Ariel

I think that “Tuesday’s with Morrie” was a good book. I think that the book would be good for people who have serious diseases or people or who are dealing with someone with a serious disease. This book has taught me that you can’t take every day for granted. It has also taught me that you need to know that some day that you will die and every day you need to ask yourself if you are ready. Finally it taught me that you need to live every day to the fullest.

I think that Tuesdays with Morrie was a really good book. At first I did not want to read it at all. It sounded like just another useless sob story. But, as I began to read it grew on me and I realized that it was an excellent book for school ,because everyone has known someone that has died and this could make things easier on them when they deal with past and future deaths. It also shows that when people are dying you shouldn’t become depressed, but rather celebrate their life and just be happy and spend more time with the dying person. I think this would be a good book for people of all ages to read. In the end I was happy we read this book.

My response to this book is that its so heartwarming and very passionate in some ways.
Tuesdays with morrie has touch a lot of people in so many different ways. Morrie is so jeorouse and toughtfull, hes strong and verry outgoing when he talkes about his illness or anything elses. There realy isn't a whole lot to say about this book because it was so wonderful there realy are no words to perscribe it. Except that it was probly the best book I have ever read. This book had so much passion and thought put into it, so many personal and outgoing responses and thoughts. I'm sure everyone pretty much said te same thing but this book made me wonder allso. Like wether or not any of usare going to die from a disese or just by natural causes. And if it does happen to be a disese then are we going to be as strong about dieing as Morrie was? None of us know im sure how were going to die but doesn't it ever make you wonder.

My responce to Tuesdays with Morrie is that it was a great book and very interesting and it got me very into ALS, it was a very intresting book more intresting than ,and that Frankenstein really wasn't very understanding to me or interresting . So it was a good book to learn inplus you actually learned something from the book except Frakenstein and im pretty sure, everyone learned something from this book like how depressing it is to watch a old man die slowly like for example, my Grandpa Speth he was volenteering to push carts up and down outside and put them outside then a teenager pushed a cart as hard as he could, and my Grandpa Speth fell and broke both of his hips so he stayed at the hospital for about two months. Then he was dianogsed with ALLS HYMERS and he died very slowly in a month he was unconsious and couldn't talk and he start to get worse eating food from a tube so I just wanted to share that so I think everybody has learned at least something from this book. ~Brandon~
I loved "Tuesdays With Morrie." This is the only book I think I have ever wanted to open and read without being told to. This book really made me think about whats worth what in life because it was so realistic. It made me think about what I should fight for and how to handle the most important things. Which are always the hardest to handle, but now I feel like I have had enough time to be okay and more ready in my mind if anything is to happen. I'm not as affraid of death like Jake had said, because I see myself and others differently now. This was an awsome book and I think that everyone should sit down and read it because it's not hard to read and it really makes you see things in a better and a more appreciative way. *kelsey
I liked the book Tuesdays With Morrie though it didn't make me sad. I don't think if Morrie was still alive he would want the I liked the book teaching his lesson on life to be sad at all he wanted to get his point across. Morrie's teachings gave me a new way to look at life and death he showed the way you should live your life and not to be sad about death. One thing I liked most about the book were all his aphorisms they made you stop and think. I had never heard of als until I read this book but now I know a lot about it. My overall impression of the book was that I liked it for a couple reasons first I liked what it was about second it was easier to read than Frankenstein last it was a good book.-Stuart
