Morrie was a tremendous teacher, both in and out of the classroom, and what he taught Mitch and hundreds of others continues to make a difference even now, years after Morrie's death. What teacher has had the most lasting impact on you, and why? What did this person do for you that others didn't? Think about a teacher who affected you beyond the classroom--someone who helped make you be who and how you are right now.

 The teacher that has made me who I am would be Ryan Plattenburg.The reason why he has made me the way I am is because hes made me do the things that I thought I would never believe in.Another way that he has made me the way I am was during the football season when we had our frist football game and he played me more in one game then the whole 8thgrade season and told me that I could play in at least one varsity game I played my frist varsity game at Mendon.Devon La Master

I think that my favorite teacher and the teacher that has had a long lasting effect on my life would be Mrs.Layne she didn't only care about grades but she wanted to help with your life in any way she could. There were times where she could tell that the reason i wasnt getting the best grades was because of somthing else in my life and she would try to help me in any way that she could. She was the most caring teacher i have ever had in school. Morrie was a very good teacher also maybe in a diffrent way he tought life lessons and he helped many other people by being so open in his experiances.   *Chelsea

     The teacher that made a lasting impact on me the most would have to be Mrs. Lane, my 6th grade english teacher.  The reason is because during that time I started to write books and stories and nobody seemed to take interest in them.  I felt as if my parents, my friends and nearly every person I showed them to didn't really care for them.  I just thought that I was a bad writer.  Then I gave her one of my best stories one day and she loved it.  From then on I started writng more and more.  Now I have about 10 stories that are an average of 25 typed pages each. I write all of the time.  That's all I do.  I go to school.  Go to practice for a sport.  Get home.  DO my homework.  Eat my supper.  And write.  Sometimes I'll stay up until midnight on a school night, writing and creating. It's my favorite thing to do.  I think I still would have kept writing even though I wasn't recieving any positive feedback fromanyone, but the way she took interest in my stories helped alot.

 My favorite teacher and the teacher that had the greatest impact on me was Mrs. Lane. She also was very good at music. One time she brought in an instument and played the titanic theme song. It was so beautiful. She was also the nicest teacher ive had. She helped every student in the classroom with their difficulties and grades. Her kindness was the greatest thing in the school. She was always helpful in whatever way the students needed her. My favorite day was when we all went to her house as a field trip. She had the coolest house ever. And she let all the students tour her house and then we all ate and rolled down her hill. I'm sure we all had a really great day that day. Morrie was also a really good teacher just like mrs.lane.

My favorite teacher would probably have to be Mr. Taylor. Even though he didn't teach a lot of science, he taught us a lot about life. He's the one teacher that you would be able to go to and talk out things. He became friends with every one of his students (if they liked him). Mr. Taylor's teaching showed you how to make your way through life. I like how he cares about how you are as a person, before learning science, even though that might be a bad thing. Mr. Taylor is a great person, and I hope he doesn't stop teaching.

The teacher that probably inspired me most would probably me Mrs. Harn. She was my first grade teacher and I loved her as a teacher. She did a lot of activities to teach us things. We went on a lot of field trips that taught us things. The thing that I remember most about her class is our turtle Rainbow. We all learned how to take care of him. We all took turns feeding him and cleaning out his water tank. We had Rainbow for many months and then at the end of the year we set him free. The whole class went to Spring Lake and we put him in the water and watched him swim away. I think this was a really good lesson that Mrs. Harn tought us because you can’t hold on to everything; you have to let some things go. It also taught us how to be responsible of taking care of a living thing. Mrs. Harn would probably be one of my teachers that I will remember after what all she taught us! - Kelsie W.

 At the top of the page it asks for us to write about a teacher who taught us beyond the classroom. When I read this the first thing that came to mind was my Mom. She was my seventh grade math teacher. Now, some of you may think that its unfair for me to write about my mom, but I'm not supposed to care about what you think. That was one of the best lessons my mom taught me. To not let what others think of you affect you. It's way easier said than done but I'm working on it. Most daughters can say that their Moms have the most affect on their life. They teach us the most important things- like what's right from whats wrong and how to do your makeup so you don't look like a clown. She is the one person I look up to and who I want to be like when I'm a mom. So yeah, I'd say she is the teacher who has had the most affect on my life outside of school. --Katie*

I think that my favorite teacher and teacher that had a long lasting impact on my life was Mr. Taylor. He didn't really cared about grades ,but he cared about you being responsible and what you were going to do and even more what kind of person you were going to be when you graduated from school. So even though he didn't really care about grades when he gave you an assignment he expected it to be done and handed in on time which really prepared me for high school in the sense that you need to be responsible and get your stuff done and turned in on time. He also cared about problems that you had going on outside of school which really helps you even when you're just having a bad day because if you had no one to talk to you know that you could always go and talk to him. Watching him made me realize how you can help someone through a hard day just by listening to what they have to say and even encouraging them and just letting them know that you are there for them.~Taylor Dale

 I think the teacher ththat impacted me the most was mrs. Hardy she was my third grade theacher she was the best. Becaues she would do any thing to help me in school. But in the middle of the year my grandmother died and i was very close to her .I was so upset that I would not go to school but mrs. Hardy got me to come back to school and helped me get through school.-Tyler Mummert

One teacher who has made an impact on my life is Mrs. Gross. She is my French teacher and French is one of my favorite subjects. She has made an impact on my life because she is teaching me a new language. When I grow up I might want to live in France and so I’ll already know the language. Also, I really like French and am interested in other languages. I’ve decided I want to major in foreign languages in college. So, she has influenced me by giving me something that I really like and something that I might possibly do when I grow up. -becca

A teacher that inspired me the most would probably have to be Mrs. Sargent. She was my 4^th grade teacher. She helped me a lot in school and she didn’t give that much homework. But she is still a friend to me. She was fun and everything and she didn’t make us feel like we were just her students. She made us feel like we were her friends, I know that might sound really stupid but it’s true. I was a little nervous at first to have her as a teacher, but at the end I was really happy. And she taught us lessons of life. So she is a teacher that as inspired me.-Brittany*

A teacher who has had a great impact on me would have to be Mr. Page. He made history fun by making people act things out, although for some odd reason I was always a person that died. You could always tell he knew what he was talking about.  He always had great expectations for me when it came to school. Partially, because of him, I am the student I am today.   I also have great respect for him as a coach. Even though our freshman basketball team is an eyesore to those who watch us play he still comes and supports us at every home game and gives us some helpful advice. He’s always very blunt and will tell you what you did wrong and how to fix it, or he’ll be the first to complement you after you’ve done something right. Mr. Page has had a positive affect on my life, and many others.- Austin

One teacher who has had a big impact on me and my life would be Mrs. Lane. She was my 'homeroom' teacher in sixth grade. She always had a smile on her face everytime we walked into her classroom in the morning. She would give the best advice and she didn't pick favorites like most teahchers do. She was always giving people compliments and never putting people down. She rarely yelled unless it was really nessacery. She was a great teacher and she was very understanding, if we didnt get something. Whenever I see her today I have to stop and atleast say hi and ask how she's doing. Mrs. Lane started most of my first memories of being a new student at Rushville and even though I had a few friends she did help me with some problems I might of had. She is a very thoughtful and caring person just like Morrie and I know I'd come visit her if she was ever in a position like his. -Lyndsey

When I was at military school I had a teacher named Sergeant (Sgt.) Munson. Sgt. Munson helped me in so many ways. Living far away from my family he helped me with my homesickness. And there was times when older kids made fun of me because I missed my mommy. Sgt. Munson told me to just laugh. At first it was hard, but finely I got use to it. The best thing that Sgt. Munson did to help me was. When I was a sixth grader Sgt. Munson was very disappointed with the eighth graders so he told me to go be company commander which was only an eighth grader position. At first I was dumfounded, but I got what he was saying. It was probably the best night of my life. When I left Missouri Military Academy Sgt. Munson was deployed to Iraqi and I never got to tell him how much he helped me get thought my three years at military school. I really wish I could see him just one more time.
